Enjoy a family holiday to the Ardèche region of France

ardeche website

The Ardèche is a popular region of the South of France, named after the river, which is 125km long. The valley of the Ardèche is very scenic, in particular a 30km section known as The Gorges de l'Ardèche, where we take families every summer as part of an exciting two day canoe journey. Whilst the river offers some exhilarating rapids along the way, the canoeing here is not technically difficult, making it well suited to children and families. Our qualified team of instructors are on hand to guide you down the river safely and will you a few canoe techniques along the way.

The first day will be spent paddling the first part of the river journey, with time to relax and enjoy a spot of lunch served by our team on the banks of the river. In the early evening, our team will take you to an established bivvi site, where you will be served dinner and entertained in the evening, before hot chocolate and a chance to enjoy sleeping under the stars as a family. A truly memorable experience. The following morning our team will serve breakfast and take you on the rest of your canoe journey where you will get to enjoy more paddling, tackle a few rapids and soak in the views of the limestone walls which can stretch as high as 300m! At the end of the canoe journey, your coach will be there to greet you, returning you to the campsite to enjoy a well earned rest by the pool or a cool drink in the on-site cafe/bar.

It doesn't end here. There are plenty of other activities that form part of this family adventure holiday including rock climbing, raft-building and more! There will also be a chance to explore the local area where you can find some great local markets, shops and cafe/bars.
