Calais Update

Calais Update 15:30 - 31/07/2015

In light of the on-going events in Calais and the continual media coverage we hope to offer reassurance to families traveling with us on a family holiday in the next 48 hours.

All of our families are travelling with P&O on the Dover-Calais route. At the time of this update P&O are operating into Calais although there may be some delays due to high volumes of traffic. There is high volumes of traffic in and around Dover so please allow plenty of time to make your way to your coach pick up point if you are joining us at Dover. We have been cautious with travel times and have factored in time for some delays to the schedule, if the coach arrives early with all passengers on board P&O will aim to put you on the next avalaible crossing. If significant delays occur and the allotted ferry is missed P&O will allocate the coach to the next available crossing. P&O offer one crossing from Dover-Calais per hour.

There are no further planned strikes in Calais. At this stage Acorn are not altering any travel arrangements however we are constantly monitoring the situation in Calais and should a strike take place we will take the necessary course of action to provide  an alternative route.  I am sure you will appreciate that any strikes or disruption at Calais is outside of our control however we do have links with DFDS who operate from Dover-Dunkirk, the Eurotunnel and other ports including Le Harve and Portsmouth so are well prepared to provide an alternative route with minimal disruption to your journey should the need arise.
