This historic ski resort is without doubt one of the most fashionable resorts in the French Alps. Set in a narrow river gorge halfway between Megève and Chamonix, the landscape is impressive wherever you look. The small alpine town is always full of life and offers diverse après-ski and an excellent selection of interesting food shops, cosy bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Among its attractions are thermal baths with spa treatments, a cinema, casino, and many outdoor activities available such as an Olympic skating rink or unforgettable snowshoe walks.
St. Gervais' main mountain is Mont d'Arbois from where it's possible to ski down to Megève. The main ski area is vast and forms part of the Evasion ski domain and its 420 kms of slopes. The lift infrastructure is impressive, including the 20-person high speed gondola linking Le Bettex with Megève. This area is well suited for all abilities whilst snowboarders enjoy one of the best snow parks of the region. Skiing on the Mont Blanc side of St. Gervais is served by the tramway (not to be missed!), a mountain railway that climbs slowly to the Col de Voza at 1,653m, where it links to the skiing above Les Houches. The Mont Joly and Mont Joux sections offer the steepest slopes where some good off-piste can also be found.
This friendly family run hotel is ideally situated in the centre of St. Gervais. It is only a short 15 minute walk or 5 minute coach shuttle to the main gondola. All rooms are en-suite and decorated in a traditional alpine style. The hotel offers traditional home cooked cuisine and is ideal for family groups.
