Winter transforms the Alpine valley of Montafon in Austria into a fabulous ski arena. Stunningly beautiful, and dominated by the peaks of the Silvretta and Verwall ranges, Montafon region (and our lift pass) includes four main ski areas - Silvretta Nova, Gargellen, Golm, Kristberg and Muttersberg in Bludenz, offering family-friendly skiing with gentle beginner slopes and wide open runs for carving.

The nice thing about the Montafon is that visitors don’t really have to choose between different skiing areas. So no matter where you stay in the valley, it’s always only a few minutes’ drive to the slopes or to the many other attractions. Each ski pass includes free travel on the ski buses. The region offers good skiing and boarding for all ability levels. There are 219m of marked downhill ski runs, mostly between 1600-2300m and a modern ski lift system of 61 ski lifts covered by a single regional lift pass.  Montafon’s marked ski runs are predominantly red and blue, and especially good for intermediates and beginners. Beginners and families with small children are certain to enjoy the Kristberg runs - these sunny and manageable slopes are ideal for those first attempts at skiing.  

There’s also plenty of challenging off-piste skiing including some of the best ski touring in Europe.  The snowboarder friendly ski areas feature one of Europe’s top snowparks, The NovaPark, ideal both for beginners and experts.  Montafon has a good snow record boosted by modern snowmaking machines to help extend the ski season and ensure good snow cover on long runs back down to villages in the valley. There are around 30 mountain restaurants, mostly with sun terraces and fabulous views where you can enjoy your lunch or a cup of hot chocolate!
