Acorn Family Holidays

Tan Troed is our own 17-acre campsite, set only one mile away from Llangorse Lake, the largest lake in South Wales. Tan Troed is a perfect destination for a UK activity holiday and has one of the widest ranges of activities we have on offer.

The lake is a perfect location for watersports such as sailing, kayaking, canoeing and raft building - so many opportunities to get wet! The watersports are  complemented by the wide range of dry land activities available on-site at Tan Troed including a high ropes course, two climbing and abseil towers, three sheltered archery ranges, and two challenge courses. There is also an indoor area ideal for discos, talent evenings and other evening activities. Plus - the minimum age for activities at this centre is five years old.

What's included?

All our Tan Troed holidays are FULLY inclusive. This means all your activities, equipment and instruction are included in the price.  In addition, we offer full board accommodation for 7 nights. We have lots of experience of providing good nutritious food suitable for multi-activity holidays and feeding fussy children! Three meals a day are included - breakfast is usually continental in style, lunch a picnic or salad, and for dinner we offer a 2-3 course dinner.

Accommodation is in our own Acorn tents – these are especially designed by us to be basic but comfortable, great fun for kids and grown-ups! All tents have solid floors and metal-sprung single beds; you will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows with you.  Families of 3 or 2 have one tent whereas families of 4 or more have two adjacent tents.  There is no electricity in the tents in Tan Troed (although you will be provided with a light) – a camping experience as it should be! 

All activities that we provide are included in the price.  All equipment and tuition by our own Acorn Instructors is included. There are never any extra payments for our activities. Typically, there are three scheduled activity sessions each day: a morning session following breakfast, an afternoon session following lunch and a fun evening session following dinner.  You can participate in as much or as little as you like. We take full responsibility for all participants during activities so there is no need for parental supervision if you want to opt out of a session here or there.
