Two Centre, France/Italy
- Double the experience - a holiday in Italy and France
- Double the adventure - thrilling white water rafting and the breathtaking river descent
- Wonderful choice of contrasting locations and activities
High adrenaline watersports!!!
Exhilarating white water rafting and the unforgettable Ardèche river descent.
This adventure offers you a visit to two beautiful regions. The highlights of this trip are the Ardèche descent in France and the exhilarating white water rafting experience on the Dora Baltea River in Italy – really high adrenaline watersports. Add to this a double selection of places of historic and cultural interest and fun-filled waterparks and leisure resorts, and this holiday is guaranteed to keep every member of your family happy!
An exhilarating two-day descent of the Ardèche River by open canoe (2-person per canoe), with a one-night bivouac is the highlight at Camping La Savane. The overnight stop is at a bivouac site where Acorn staff cook your evening meal and provide breakfast before your second day of canoeing. In the true outdoor style the bivouac involves sleeping under the stars on the banks of the river in the deep heart of the gorge.
In Italy, a full day of incredible alpine white water rafting awaits you. The rafts usually hold eight people plus an instructor. This activity takes place on progressively more challenging sections of the Dora Baltea River so the excitement grows as the day goes along.
There is also an exciting array of other watersports and some very exciting dry land activities provided during your stay, from caving to our fantastic high ropes course.
This adventure is perfect for those wishing to pack their trip full with a burst of contrasting locations, activities and experiences.
What's included?
All our holidays are FULLY inclusive. This means all your activities, equipment and instruction included in the price. In addition, on our 2 Centre Adventure holidays we offer full board accommodation for 9 nights. We have lots of experience in providing good nutritious food suitable for multi-activity holidays and feeding fussy children! Three meals a day are included - breakfast is usually continental in style, lunch a picnic or salad, and for dinner we offer a 2-3 course dinner.
Accommodation is in Acorn tents – these are especially designed to be basic but comfortable, great fun for kids and grown-ups! All tents have solid floors and metal-sprung single beds; you will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows with you. Families of 3 or 2 have one tent whereas families of 4 or more have two adjacent tents. Although we can not always guarantee it, if your family has just one tent we will normally have it equipped it with the following items: hanging "wardrobe”, side table, light, mirror and fridge. If your family has been allocated two tents, the primary tent will be equipped with all these items. There is no electricity in the secondary tent – a camping experience as it should be!
Places to visit
The Aosta Valley in Italy is a great base for sightseeing. Close by are the beautiful medieval towns of Aosta and Chamonix (the birthplace of mountaineering), just the other side of the great Mont Blanc. Slightly further afield are the cosmopolitan cities of Geneva, Turin and Milan with plenty to do, see and (of course!) some great shopping.
There are plenty of areas of interest surrounding the Ardèche the medieval village of Balazuc, carved into a limestone cliff; the picturesque towns of Aubenas and Vallon Pont d’Arc; and the Roman cities of Nimes and Orange.
Having your car with you for the duration of your stay will give you a little more independance to travel around the centre or to extend your visit to other parts of the region.
In addition, you can choose to extend your stay in the area. Please let us know if you need help organising hotels stays or for suggestions on places to visit.

Will I need to use my car whilst at centre?
If you choose a Self Drive or Fly Drive holiday to any of our centres, you may have to use your car to access some of our activity sites, especially at Villeneuve in Italy where almost all activities are off-site. You will of course be welcome to go off-site at any time for excursions or days/evenings out, although we find that many families only choose to do so once or twice during their holiday with us.
How to get there by car?
Simply put in your postcode to provide you with driving directions from your front door! If you need us to help you arrange channel crossing, Eurotunnel tickets or overnight accommodation, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will happy to assist you.
Our coach holidays are extremely popular - they offer you an excellent way of avoiding the hidden costs of motoring and the stress of driving in a foreign country. You can sit back and relax while beautiful scenery passes by, or just close your eyes and sleep through some of those motorway miles!

Why go by Coach?

We understand that travelling as a family can sometimes be stressful so we take the stress away by organising your travel. It means no hassle of having to arrive 3hrs earlier at the airport, it’s perfect for children and removes the extra trouble of excess baggage or lugging suitcases around the airport.
Meeting the Coach
We arrange several convenient pick up points which will start from the north of England or Scotland and then follow a main route south to Dover.
We choose the best route to suit all families going to a particular resort. Pick up points are often transport terminals such as coach and train stations, motorway services and, finally, Dover Docks.
